Ever owned one? Numerous small problems (mainly electrical) here and there. My 5 sat in the dealership more than I drove it... and I am not exaggerating. Traded the car in after less than a yr of ownership.

I never really heard any prob with 5 series, but yea seriously everything holds its value high here in BC since all dealers are greedy as fck lol.

I noticed recently that the value of G35 dropped dramatically. For BMW, Z4M dropped its value a lot too.

That's true for most cars... the more the status symbol and less pedestrian the car the more the case. '06 LS with low miles = mid 40k's, new mid 60's. Love the 30% depreciation in one year. 'Course an S65 does that the day you drive it off the lot lol, Kinda weird world we live in where you can get a '06 S65 with next to no miles for less than an '08 S550. I know I'd sure rather have the nicer interior + v12 biturbo. Plus I think they '06 looks better, but then its now new so you get fewer poser points which is what those vehicles are all about.

My 06 M5 was in the shop at least 6 times for unscheduled maintenance. Speakers & amps failed, rear springs were recalled, the rear window regulator failed, & the steering angle sensor failed(car out for 1.5 days & had to insist on a rental which was a $15k sebring).

This plus the 3-4 sheduled trips became just too much.

My 03 M3 before that was just as bad.

The 335 is holding value well because it is still the current body/latest engine combo. Wait until the M3 sedan face is introduced on the rest of the 3er lineup. Luxury owners want the latest, so deals are to be had when a facelift or new body comes out.

Porsche is just as bad on depreciation. I got my 2006 7k mile CPO CS for around $15k off msrp.

I went through three 530xi's before the dealer finally got one in from the factory that did not come off the boat with the power steering out. then mine went out a month later.... 5 day fix. I drive sucks ass, but other than that I have been happy... how ever it is not holding value at all, perhaps because no one likes wagons in Cali
