Is Hyundai the new Honda?

Quote from the original Motor Trend blog post: "Honda offers not one car with a direct-injected engine."
Really? An automotive writer should know better than that. The 1.5l engine in the Honda Fit is direct-injected and makes 130hp on regular unleaded. So is the new 1.5l turbo engine in the 2016 Civic.

Hyundai is def not the new Honda. Honda was innovative in its engineering and builds world class engines. Hyundai is more of a me too company that builds decent cars, but has built nothing truly innovative. Sure Honda has sucked as of late, but Hyundai is still catching up. If you want an appliance to get from A to B (like most people), then they're certainly good enough. Honda does/did have a racing heritage. Although dwindling, it's completely non-existant w/ Hyundai.

I don't understand all the picking on JonBoy lately. Not that your post is picking on him, just wonder why people are making sport of it. He has been around here as long as I have.
He posts his Honda Scoops/Rumors and some of them have been right over the years. I though he posted something from back in the day that he was moving from Texas to Canada and was going to be working at some outfit that did business with Honda or something to that effect.
That memory could be wrong, but if I were working with a company and got a little bit of inside dope, I might post a scoop or two, but I would not rat out my source on the googlywebs.
Besides, S2ki has been pretty dead for the last couple years but it is still an enjoyable place to check in with Car Talk. I'd hate to see another regular poster chased out of here. Most of the fun people got banned over the years by the mods.
