I hate em too, but another Ring time thread GT3 RS

I am always the Viper fan... less than 5 seconds behind the GT3 RS with a private funded attempt.... not bad... of course I cannot afford a ACR but performance is hard to beat...especially for $$. and a real stickshift vs pdk

Sport auto did a test with a short track like 1:20ish, in the new gt2 rs vs the Lamborghini Superdeluxeroyalwithcheeseveloce on both of the cup tires, the previous model and the R tire. The gt2 rs was faster (than everything but the 918) on the old tire, then shaved another 2 freakin seconds by a tire change. On a 1:20ish track that is huge. You would expect a drop like that from a pilot sport to cup tire.

Well PDK is what you get when performance is needed over driving involvement/enjoyment. When I watched that video the first time, I thought to myself, "I wonder how many seconds would be added with a manual." There are parts of the track where the car is shifting like crazy up and down and either the driver would lose tenths of a second doin it manually, or keep the car in gear and get less than optimal power for a few seconds at a time.
If you are shooting for ring times, or racing where there is money on the line, I have no doubt PDK is the better option. I'd never buy one though.

Good luck, I hope you get an allocation. I don't know how you can afford to track these things. I just looked at my rear tires after the car felt greasy running around town and low and behold, the last of my tread has just vaporized. Two new rears quoted $800 mounted and balanced. I can't imagine what a pair for a GT3 RS goes for or how fast the track eats them up.

You might get flamed for it but I totally agree. Just got back from Porsche Owner's Club at Fontana Speedyway this past Sunday and listening to the PDK's boom was mesmerizing.
If I got a GT3, I might as well get the best one and in Porsche, the fastest is the best. I'm getting the god damn PDK and my left foot will like it.

If i cant afford to keep the GT4 i will likely keep the CR for that manual fix.

I might be nuts but I'd take my GT3 in stick for a maximized dynamic experience and the Turbo / Turbo S in PDK. Having driven the Turbo S having the PDK keep the boost up between shifts was an amazing experience - just got WOT and hold the **** on
