It looks much better in real life than in pictures. But that i drive thing looks awful and huge. Too many gadgets in that car.

yes, I agree it look much better in real life. I saw one in LA auto show, it looks pretty much the same size as the last gen 740i that my family own, but in photo, that car looks huge.

I saw one the other day on the expressway...looked pretty nice, but I didn't care for the tail. It's certainly a distinguished looking car...but I swoon over the previous generation 7 series. Man, that is one spectacular automobile. I used to date a girl who had a 740il...absolutely magnificent car. I would always drive when we were out and I loved that damn car. But this version doesn't quite do it for me. It's nice, but I like to previous one better...

The designer has spent alot of time explaining how people are not accepting change.. , IMO good styling speaks for itself and does not need explanations. I am not drawn to the styling and think the controls / ergonomics leave a lot to be desired. Not for me!

This is the car with the i.drive control, right? It got a horrible review for ergonomics, but very good for driving comfort in USA Today last week. I have to admit, I'd probably get pretty annoyed having to using the same knob and a menu for Climate, radio, and navigation. Reviewer said it took like 10 seconds to change a radio station if you were previously on the Nav or Climate functions. It looks all right tho. Personally, just like with the CLK430, I like the current design better.

I'm in agreement. The car does look much better in person.

Still, I hope they don't start using it as a styling cue for the rest of their line.

Merc's are getting better looking, Bimmers worse. Who'da thunk it?
