Yer Z looks almost exactly like mine! Bright red, chrome bumpers minus the overriders and rubber strips, headlight covers, etc.
Here's mine:

This is a series 1 car, which you can tell by the "240Z" logo behind the windows (vs "Z"), rear hatch vents, and other minor changes (namely inside the car). They are very, very light.
The motor in this particular car is a 2.8L I6 pulled from an '82 280ZXT. With the FMIC, plumbing, turbo and other supporting mods it probably added another 100-150lbs to the car - not to mention the wimpy R180 has been changed out for a beefier LSD and the tranny is a T5.
The L28ET is a very popular swap as the engines are pretty much the same from 70-83, with of course added fuel injection vs carbs, turbo, heads, etc. Its a "drop in" swap and honestly, I really can't think of a motor that has the same sound - they sound tough.

Love them!
Just keep it out of the weather as chassis rust will kill it faster than my kids go through Easter candy.
Congrats!

The ONLY place this car has is a couple dime size bubbles in the rocker panels. Everything else - tray, hatch, floors, rails, etc are PERFECT. This is the most solid 240Z I've ever seen IRL, minus the RB26DETT'd AWD monster show car I saw in SA, TX a couple years ago.
Believe me this car will be cared after - its a keeper.

My '71 weighs 2300 lb. empty. With a tweaked 3.1 liter (~240-250rwhp), mods for camber, and stiffer springs/struts/sways (not even coilovers), it is FIVE SECONDS FASTER than my S2000 at fast tracks like Watkins Glen and at slow tracks like New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

As for being great cars it definitely is one of the best and truely turned the sports car game around - and did a lot of the image of Japanese cars.
Even the most die-hard domestic/muscle car guys love old school Zs. As Im sure you're well aware driving this car is an event as EVERYONE talks to you about someone they know owning one. I don't mind as I can talk cars 24/7.

You gonna put blue wheels on it?
It WILL have Work wheels as well, but polished Equip 01s.
Future exterior mods include:
GNose
ZG Flares
Chrome bullet mirrors
15" Work Equip 01s (very aggressive, 10F/11R)
Coilovers
Think this:
Until I source a G Nose (near impossible with covers) the car will keep the standard front end, so most likely for a while it'll look like this - not that it sucks.

Your S30 has to be fun to drive. Its mainly track only isn't it? It looks great!
'70-'72 240Zs weighed closer to 2300 than 2400. I haven't done any kind of weight reduction on mine, and it has a roll bar, R200 lsd, 5-speed, and it weighs in very close to 2300 even. Yours should weigh less than 2400 with the L28ET, T5, and R200.
Enjoy

I know you're just being a smartass, but no.. The car, like my S2000, will be modified according to individual purpose and style - in the Zs case period correct mAD TyTE JDM yo!

rnye and zdan, at that feather weight, 250-300whp and a proper suspension setup, it's no wonder that the Z's at our local auto-x are dominating the track (in addition to some S's). i always assumed they weighed much more. makes me want to learn more about these bad boys...
