This whole thing is a pipe dream from a bored Honda fan.

This bugs me a bit. These car companies don't think there is much of a market for "sports cars" but then they make one that is not that sporty. When it does not sell big, they assume it is because nobody wants a sports car. See the Toyota MR2 Spyder. Thousands of owners of the MR2 turbo wanted a successor to a moddable powerful (at the time) car. What we got was a Miata fighter nobody wanted and nobody bought. It was also ridiculously priced for a car sports car with an engine from the standard Corolla.

Front end looks like the old S800 to me. It's not meant to appeal to "Our" market guys. It's fitting that new MPG saavy group.

Yeah, cuz when S2000 sales were declining, what Honda really needed was a car with less room, less power, and one fewer gear ratio.

Skeptical this will ever happen, although I think it's technically possible. It's one car that would keep me in the Honda camp long term.

I see S800 styling details buried in that picture, although it looks like it's supposed to have 235/35-17 tires and who needs that with a 1.3?

While I'm no big fan of it, at least it's a RWD platform. They're shooting for low $20k folks. For that price (and it's a convertible), you can't be expecting too much. As others said, this is a miata fighter (at least in its current form). Yes it's ugly, but that will likely change I imagine. My mentality is something is better than nothing at this point.

Wow, they've turned over design duties to the film makers of "cars"
