What's your take? Obviously biased coming from us, but try to be as honest/unbiased as possible.
.. ok I sat here for a good 10 minutes and still cant find one reason why I would take a boxter over an s2k.

before I owned my civic, before I owned an s2000, before I owned an eagle summit while never thinking that I just might own a honda, the porsche boxster has ALWAYS been the ugliest porsche imo.
the car doesn't know which way it wants to look, it doesn't know what it wants to look like, and it's not appealing....at all
again, my opinion...

I've just bought my first S and I'm really enjoying it.
I went and drove a boxter before I decided on the S2000. While it was a nice car well put togther and refind I found it a bit boreing.
It didn't feel quick(2.7 227hp) and the motor felt a bit limp and lazy compared with the S Imo.

The Boxter is the ugliest and one of the slowest models Porsche has designed aside from the 944.
And how the hell can you compare the worst model Porsche has made to one of the top two models Honda has? Sort of a poor comparison imo.

the new boxster is gorgeous and i'd put one in my garage...if i had an extra $75K lying around collecting 0.5% interest.
that being said, we're talking about used car bargains, boxster vs. s2000. a worthy comparison if there ever was one.
I'd be fearful of the dreaded and catastrophic intermediate shaft failure many earlier gen boxster engines are at risk of. Used porsche engines are FAR more expensive than the F20 or F22, even a honda short block is a bargain in comparison. Both cars require religious maintenance, but the Honda won't ruin you.
I've driven both and love the boxster's handling characteristics- far easier to drive than the AP1, and its got a great engine note too. The s2000 is more "on edge", but that is what i prefer.
Telling people you drive a honda- the best honda produced- is better than porsche's boxster as it really wasn't their best effort at the time. Porsche-philes will say "boxsters aren't real porsche's", but Honda-philes will say, "yeah, the s2000 IS a real honda."

I think those specific cars are a bad comparison, the Boxster has 72k miles vs 40k on the S. As the main complaint of the S seems to be that it costs the same as the Boxster they could easily find a 72k mile S for a good bit less money, although once you do that it wouldn't make for a very good article.
