Just purchased a 2003 AP1
I just purchased a completely stock 2003 AP1 with 58,000 miles. I am the second owner, and it's immaculate. I am wanting to do an exhaust, and intake system. I am debating between the Invidia Q300 or the Tanabe Concept G. Any thoughts of the 2? Or is there a better one that I am not researching far enough into. I would love to do a T1R, but in the Military, my buddy got 3 tickets in his 07 AP2 on base... Not looking for all that heat.

Congrats on the new car!!! My advice with exhausts is to not waste your money for the sake of sound, if you get a real HP bump then I can see it, but nobody likes a car that sounds like a giant weedeater.

Welcome to S2KI. I had the concept G also with HFC and it sounds awesome all across but if you don't want cops attention then both Concept G and Q300 are loud when you open up. Concept G with OEM cat is quiter.

Concept G sounds awesome I would def recommend it I had mine with my oem cat, and at WOT it sounded beautiful, I could only imagine what a test pipe or HFC would make it sound like

This is entirely opinionated obviously.
Q300 w/ oem cat sounds great, it gets raspy from like 3.5-4k with a test pipe. So something to keep in mind, if you plan on adding a test pipe later. I've noticed that the ones with titanium tips sound different than the ones with SS tips, but thats comparing video clips of titanium tipped ones to what my SS tipped Q300 sounds like in real life.
As for intake, if you want performance, get a long tube style intake like the AEM v2, or the PWJDM. If you want an amazing sound, get the K&N FIPK, literally nothing else sounds as good. Anyone else who says otherwise hasn't heard them all back to back.
