In all fairness, they are marketing it as a GT car according to their site, which is a better fit; I would be hesitant to call anything at 3,800 lbs a sports car. I would completely disagree with "head-turning design" though.

The Kia Stinger is like the Genesis sedan, err I guess the smaller Genesis sedan not the equus one, anyway, it's a 5 series for 3 series price. Most people don't buy 3 series because they could afford the 3 5 and 7 and then think I need the smaller one to scoot around town, most buy it because I want a BMW and I can afford that one. The stinger will allow them to get a 5 series size car for the price less than a 3 series. It's still very much a value proposition, the Genesis had a similar strategy only they focused more on the quality, luxury aspect of the GT car, think more lexus and merc than bmw.
Anyway, cool car, I dig its looks alot, just can't see myself pulling the trigger on one namely because I'm worried about resale value and Kia/Hyundai hasn't done enough yet to make me feel somewhat certain that this car will run over 100k miles with zero issues like a Honda or Toyota would. When talking about a sub 25k family practical car I have no issues, but when we start getting into the discretionary income side of car purchasing, things like that become more important.

No where on Kia's website is it called a "Sports car". The link to their website says "2018 Kia Stinger Upcoming Grand Touring Vehicle Kia" and the v6 is even called the Stinger GT

Debating semantics. It a GT car, its a sports car, its a pony car, is a sports sedan, its a muscle wagon. Who cares? If you feel Kia powertrains are going to give you a great GT experience in a 3800 pound car, by all means get one. I can't even list all the cars over the years that put "GT" in the name. Pontiac Grand Am GT was not exactly much of a Grand Tourer. I am just suggesting that marketing this thing as a premium sporty car experience is ........marketing.

I'm really digging it personally. The more options out there, the better IMO. I'd love to one day see a 5 door wagon of this.

The bmw 535i is marketed as the ultimate driving machine and dimensionally is close go the stinger, it weighs 4000lbs. A gtr weighs in that realm along with every v8 powered red car under 100k that has back seats.
