My only question is, how long will support for his cars exist? They're a small boutique company (relatively speaking) so I'm curious how long you will be able to buy replacement or spare parts.

I don't think most people can afford the taxes and upkeep on one ( for example: if they won it on a game show).

I don't like the sound of the car, I thought it would have a nicer exhaust sound.

Of course, at his prices, you can do some pretty wild stuff. I believe his wheels are about $25k each! His latest hypercar is over $2M and they're all sold out even though they aren't in production yet.

Also, as you mentioned, he's looking to develop cam-less engines (Freevalve technology), which would be a huge step forward, if they're truly reliable and cost effective. Early reports are 47% more power and 45% more torque with 15% improvement in fuel economy and 35% reduction in emissions.

I agree. Musk is a genius, but electric cars arent the reason. That was more of a form of marketing and current tech allowing for his cars to come to market. The recent break throughs in battery tech (solid state, rapid charging) arent coming from Tesla.
And the other manufacturers as far as I know arent making bodies with Tesla drivetrains much like how the majority of hybrids are using a Toyota hybrid system.
That valueless design is another break through that can increase the thermal efficiency of combustion motors.

Being as the Company is so small, and the number of vehicles they make are pretty small, They probably will be able to make any replacement part the customer needs, unless they go out of business, which I don't see happening for a long while.

In terms of acceleration, these guys claim their new car will be faster (but not by top speed). The cool part is it is 100% electric with a claimed 280 mile range under normal driving. But of course,.... 2 Million buckaroos for one of them :P
