Lets talk about Z4M's...
So the Z4M has been my "dream" car for quite some time... and with prices getting lower and lower i might look back into one in the next year or two (if i cant find the perfect s2k )
But really, i just wanted to hear from people who have driven one... what are your thoughts?
These prices seem great to me! You're basically getting a bearly used, 2-3 year old M3:
2007, 14k ODO, asking $29k
2006, Silver, 22k ODO, asking $25,998
Blue 2007, 20k ODO, asking $29k

I was thinking this was going to be my next car after the S2000, but based on fellow S2ki reviews and calculating the cost per mile - it just doesn't seem a "step up" - especially when you factor in performance mods for the S2000 (boost).

Impressive car -- it's a beast.
Personally I found it kind of fatiguing... the clutch, shifter, brakes, throttle, everything is really heavy. It's much easier to drive it fast than it is to cruise around town. I also didn't find it as balanced and engaging as the Cayman (obviously), but it's totally worth driving if you dig it. I'd just recommend trying out a used Cayman or (for a bit more money) Cayman S also for comparison. But other than that, I think the Z4M is my favorite "luxury" sports car out there.

I, too, was in the market for the Z4M a while ago.
I should've bought it when BMW offered $7500 cash back.
I did some searching on their forum, and while it's mostly troublefree, there's a gear issue with the earlier MYs. '06.
I think they implemented an improvement on '07 or '08s.
But yeah, I agree. It's a gorgeous car.

PM UKExotics, he used to have one.
In a nutshell, he loved the styling, but didn't really seem to like the driving experience very much.
I've seen several of his other cars, but never the Z4M...which suggests that it wasn't his favorite toy.

No sunroof was always a non-starter for me. Not sure if it matters to you. These cars definitely stand out because you hardly ever see them. I don't know how they drive, but they look impressive on autocross courses from what I've seen.
I think I'd pay the slight premium and just get a same-year M3 - get the extra room and a sunroof.

The better the car, the less you need an aftermarket. That's why there's so little aftermarket for the Z4.
