License plate that comments on Bangle

It will look dated once a new version of it comes out. That's what generally makes cars look dated-- not a few years passing, but new versions. That's why a 1993 NSX doesn't look THAT much more "dated" than a 2003.

Even if Bangle was running things, I believe the whole "flame surfacing" thing that draws all the ire was his personal baby. One of the older generation cars you list is the Z8 which was clearly the doing of Henrik Fisker, even if he was reporting to Bangle.

Like I said, the Z8 was designed under Bangle. I didn't say it was designed by Bangle.

Sorry, but I'm not sure your post make sense.
Bangle didn't design the Z8 like he didn't design the E36, E46, Z4, E60 5's, etc, etc. He was the guy responsibile for approving each particular final design out of literally thousands of entries. It wasn't like he wasn't getting to do things his way prior to '02. If one's gonna bash him for the newer bmw stylings, at least give him credit for the older stylings for which he was directly responsible.
The point of my posts in this thread - don't pretend that Bangle didn't exist prior to '02 just because one had never heard of him and just because it only became a popular thing to bash Bangle on the internet after '02. Funny that almost every other manufacturer has followed BMW and employed the flame surfacing styling nowadays?

I think the guy resposible for the pre-bangle designs era was the one at Aston Martin right now, I can't remember his name, but I read this somewhere, even though Bangle has contributed to the designs at that time, his imagination was restircted from being fully unleashed.

I don't actually have a problem with the idea of flame surfacing (ie hard edges and shifting concave/convex surfaces), I just don't like what he's done with it. He unquestionably changed how people approached automotive design, but that doesn't mean that I don't think that the current generation of bimmers are pretty awkward looking.

I think the guy's name is Henrik Fisker, he was in charge of the Z8 design, he moved to Ford in 2001 and worked with Aston Martin, can somebody confirm ??
