I really do not see the resemblance... same layout cars will share some similarities but the Maserati doesn't even remind me of the S, let alone confusing the two.

Looks a little like an S in some photos. It depends on the angle of the camera. The Maserati is almost 3 feet longer.

The windshield rake is major difference between the two, but in essence, they are quite a like. S2000 really set the tone for most GT's to come out since. I bet there are a lot of auto designers that just like the S2000 and took queues from it. It's not like the design of the S2000 is so unique. Alfa is a marque whose styling cues are used by many other marques, especially from Japan.

side by side they would not look much similar, I agree. but, the angle and perspective on the OG picture without a reference point for scale and.... my knee jerk reaction was WTF did someone do to an S2k....LOL
