Default MotoIQ's Project E90 M3 vs Stock 2016 Mustang GT -at PBIR

Hey guys,

Check out Project E90 M3 taking on a Stock 2016 Mustang GT at PBIR:

Packing more than 50whp over stock, our Project E90 M3 took to the track at Palm Beach International Raceway (ROAD COURSE) to see how it stacks up against a 2016 Ford Mustang GT. Both cars have similar power, weight, and are equipped with similarly sized Continental ExtremeContact DW tires. How will our modified 8 year old sport sedan benchmark compare to a modern “pony car” that’s transitioned away from its roots to become a corner carver? Read on to find out.

In the article:

-In-Car Video
-Motec Data overlays
-Subjective Handling reviews.

Amazing how far technology has come, when a $30K Mustang has that level of performance!

In the interest of being completely honest, didn't the MSRP of a track pack equipped 2016 Mustang GT cost closer, to, if not over, $40k?

Of course, nevermind what the "real" (lower) price is when you try to buy one

That Mustang GT in the article doesn't have the track pack, though. It'd only make the Mustang faster and better, exacerbating the difference in performance.

But it's a more expensive (and heavier) "Premium" car, with a more expensive (and heavier) California Special package.

A base car with a $2,500 Premium Package would be far less expensive, lighter, and faster.

No disagreement. My point was, the heavier, less-focused Mustang still put on quite a show, all things considered. Imagine how much better it'd be (performance wise) with the Track pack and fewer "luxuries"...

Yup a base gt with performance package is 35k, people routinely get 3k off, some even 5k.

They are great handling cars. Hard to beat for the price.
