Motor Trend: 2011 V8 Stang knocks out Genesis 3.8
Some of you may remember this thread where the Genesis 3.8 beat the V6 2011 Mustang: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=781538
Motor Trend did a similar comparo where the V8 Mustang was invited... guess who wins unanimously?

So, V8 beats V6, was this not expected? Interesting that the Camaro places below the Hyundai.
Hyundai has some double standard going

But when the top of the line sonata beats the bottom of the line legacy (even though if you read the article it appears the legacy wins anyway), no one complains?

The Sonata is significanlty quicker than the Accord and Subi, gets the same fuel economy, exhibits the best braking distance, roadhandling on the skidpad. Yes, the Sonata is more, but because it is better equipped (navi, sunroof etc).
Take away that package and I'm sure the Hyundai and Subaru are more comparably priced.

I think that article points out that you shouldn't get the 2.5i if you want any kind of power - rather than option one to $25k and have it be a dog, just get a 3.6R Premium for that money and be happy with a V6 and its lower mpg. If you want V6 power with 4 cyl mpg, there are better cars though.

Wow, the Camaro just gets pummeled (in terms of finishing 4th or lower on all the editor's choices).
Challengers are in serious needs of hp upgrades, both the V6 & V8. It is already substantially more expensive than the Camaro or the Mustang. Scuttlebutt has it that next year they are going to a 6.4L Hemi & it will be around 470 hp.
