I saw a show about him and OCC a few weeks back. He was showing off his garage. He's got a lot of awsome cars. I hope the OCC group thanks Discovery Channel every day for their huge success story.

lucky bastard, lol
as a businessman, it makes me wonder, what additional qualities make him stand out?
why is he more successful than thousands of other customizers who are more talented than he would ever dream to be?
marketing?
drive?
probably a combination of it all

Maybe it's the size of his mammouth guns...f'n A man, his biceps are the size of my waist! I think it's like any other successful person--> knowing the right people, hard work, likable personality, aggressive and being in the right place at the right time.
(Woops, edited from waste to waist....heheh)

Back in my glory days, I got up to 370lbs for a max. Now, I'd be lucky to push 300lbs. Anyway, WAY off-topic...
Paul Sr., his son, and the gang provide entertaining TV. It's gotten great ratings on the Discovery Channel and now they probably make a lot more money with the TV fees than they do selling bikes.

well, there are several ways they make their money now.
Everytime that a company pays 150-200,000 for a bike, they get HOURS of advertising on television. Its a good deal for these companies.
The shop has good chemistry which helps the show gain strength.
So they have the financial backing of a bunch of corporations wanting to have advertising that can be written-off, and the chemistry to make them "the number one docudrama on TV".
Paul Sr. might sound somewhat dumb on TV, but I think there's a brain up there...

OCC's success is not based their ability to build bikes, it's based on their ability to provide entertaining TV.
