The criteria of the the test was 2+2 coupes, with V6 engines. Four cars fall into that category even though you can make all kinds f criteria sets to mix and match what cars you want tested.

Personally, I don't know who says "I want a 2+2 with a V6", I think its more "What's a good 2+2 with power, that's in my price range?", so you might be looking at a 4-cyl Genesis Coupe as easily as a V8 GT Mustang. Can you only afford $25k? $30k? $60k? Does price even matter?

So... how will you feel in a V6 Genesis Coupe next to a Mustang GT? How about an S2000 next to a Mustang GT?

Just because you'll feel inadequate, doesn't mean everyone else will - not everyone's confidence is tied to the size of their car's engine.

I'd feel alot better.
Buying a gen V6 vs. a mustang gt or whatever cars means you like the gen better for your own reasons, or an s2000 over a 350z, or a fit over a corvette. Buying a mustang v6 vs. mustang gt means you couldn't afford the gt but really want a mustang, you don't need a v8 (and therefore probably don't need a mustang, lol) or you don't care about a V8, all of which doesn't make sense to me if you're planning to buy a mustang. In short, I've never heard any GT owners say man I wish I got the V6. Not like we're talking corvette z06 zr1 here or Mustang GT vs. GT500.
Get the engine the car was designed for, the mustang was desiged for the V8, the gen was designed for the V6 and to a certain level the I4 turbo, etc etc.
And I was being somewhat comical in my original post, to be more serious, if I had a V6 stang I'd eventually regret not springing for the V8, it's inevitable, unless I just hate the stang in general, so everytime I see a GT I'd feel ugh. Ask any enthusiast who bought a base RSX or Celica, auto 350z, etc etc. So I wouldn't and didn't feel adequate when I rolled around in my two seat, 4 banger convertible next to the plethora of V8s in my town, but I would feel, hmm, regretful if I was tooling around in a V6 stang. Matter fact, all of my cars were all four bangers where alot of the people I know were rolling in V8s and V6 TTs.
