I promise you that is not a Z2 they're testing.
Then what is that, a stripper Z4? Like what the Boxster Spyder is to the Boxster?

Good, I expect a smaller car than that!

Both of these cars are on there way to a BMW testing facility to be crushed. Notice how both of them have already been released? BMW does not keep mules around for very long after the models have been out. The Z4 has been out for several months longer than the 5erGT so its probably the new Z4si.

It wouldn't make sense for the "upcoming" Z2 to share the same footprint as a Z4 even as a mule. I think we'll see the next generation 1 series coupe mules before we see the Z2 to be honest. Lets not forget BMW is going turbo 4 banger crazy very soon!

You can all speak for yourselves, but I *NEVER* criticized the Boxster as a lesser Porsche.

If a 3 can be a 1, then why can't the Z4 be muled as a Z2?

Where is a 3 a 1? A 1 series mule has never been running around in the body of a 3 to my recollection.

Z2 will share a platform with the next gen 1coupe(F22)

Doesn't the 1 share much of the same chassis as the 3?

You're correct that they do share a lot. But BMW cut over 4inches from the wheelbase, an inch and half from its bean and 9 inches from its length. The engines and most of the interiors is shared. That's why I stated a 3 could never pose as a 1.

I am the typical customer that BMW-Porsche-Audi-etc... target when it comes to roadsters and I can tell you that the Boxster S is in a league of its own.

It's more comfortable AND it handles-feels 2X better than the rest.

The Lotus Elise is more ''pure'' but the comfort level drops too much.

If only stupid Honda would of added 50 or so HP...ah well.
