i guess so but just to clarify, are you just not a fan of domestics?
im just curious because your suggestion compared to the mustang doesnt make sense to me.

With the exception of the icons (Viper, Corvette, Ford GT, vintage muscle, etc) - I'm not a fan.
For as long as I've been around (late 80s) until very recently their products have NEVER appealed to me (until perhaps recently, Ford). In comparison to the European and Japanese offerings they always fell short (think 2002 Chevy Malibu/Ford Taurus vs Accord/Camry). I don't relish in memories of a time when the big three were great (I wasn't around) nor do I have memories of wrenching on some domestic classic with my dad.
GM going bankrupt, the idiotic/illiterate/brainwashed diehard owners I've encountered at various meets/shows and browsing their respective forums leaves a LOT to be desired and so there is VERY little that interests me in almost any domestics (particularly the 'pedestrian' or practical offerings, i.e., sedans, gas sippers, whatever.)
I think its important to consider that I haven't been influenced by family/friends - I know very few 'car people' and most (family) think my hobby is a waste of money. I kind of had to find my own way and have developed a HUGE love for RWD sports cars, namely from Asia - think Z, Supra, RX7, NSX, S2000, etc.
I've owned a few domestics (3 GM products actually) so I'm not completely opposed to them and it'd be silly to write off an entire countrys offerings due to origin or past faults - there is just very little that interests me and the ones that do CERTAINLY don't stem from the late 70s/80s - thats about as AWFUL as it gets for cars IMO.
