Glad to see that everything turned out ok. I just finally found this thread. I was parked next to where your car was towed to AND I was the one who came out to the dealership to let you know about the ride. (Oh yeah, its Ed, not Mike )
I am so glad that 1) you and your buddy were both ok, 2) the car looked repairable, 3), your father understood and you handled it so well, and 4) you'll be back behind the wheel of you car soon!
I must commend you on the most mature manner you handled this whole incident. Obviously, your father recognizes this, and while getting into an accident is not the best way to get on your dad's good side, I hope your handling of the whole situation has made him proud. I just wish I had half as much maturity when I was your age.
Good luck with the insurance stuff, at least it looks like it will come out fine. It IS a driver's educational event, and you got some great instruction too. I am sure you'll be back on the road and track in no time. Best of luck to you!
