Default My car burned, gotta get a new one

The Wolsey fire claimed many victims, one was my car.

Driver side door was fused shut!

We live in Point Dume. We left and our house but it survived...barely. Car kept fire off one side, but it got around the car and blackened one side, while melting and cracking windows on the house. We still can’t go back...takes a while to clean shit like this.

[i]We have four kids and found out about this right before the fire!

Anyway, everyone (wife, 4 kids and one on the way) is safe. I’m still stuck in a hotel and they all went back to Oregon for Xmas much earlier than normal. I join them Wednesday!

Anyway, since this is a car forum...I’m getting a new car.
The king (m5) is dead, long love the king!

Picking this up on the 29th assuming the dealership doesn’t make me too mad. Baaaad at their jobs....

anyway its a ‘19 competition model with cc brakes and about everything else...should be rad!

Family first and now you got a cool replacement car coming your way. Did your home get destroyed as well?

I’m going to be buying it in SF and drive it back to LA...that’s the plan anyway. I’ve done something like this before. Should be a lot less drama then when I bought my orange car off of eBay and drove it back from Texas to SF.

Doesn’t look too bad, but it blistered the paint and burned all 350ft of our fence. It ended here...

no. But it was torched a bit on the outside and lots of smoke inside.

Part of our fence and the house behind us.

Every house on on three sides of us is gone or heavily damaged. Most were burned to the ground.
