I have always wanted to own an evo8 but my old DSM scared the shit out of me when it came to 4g63s, lol. I hope you enjoy your purchase, I would love to own an evo one day.

NICE!!! I always wanted to drive one of those evo 8's i hear nothing but great things about them. if worse comes to worse and I need the extra space/seats/move back up north and need AWD, I will definitely be looking into one of these. its so hard to find one thats unmolested though.

4g63 motors are tanks, but you need to take care of them just like any other hi performance engine. I beat the snot out of by old Talon to nearly 200k miles. Then a kid from Georgia flew up to buy it and drove it home from PA and continued to drive it for a few years more, sold it running, and now he's buying it back again with a blown motor.

The 4G63 in the Evo's are pretty much bulletproof as long as you don't push too much torque on stock block.

Yes, it really is hard to find an unmolested one with a caring owner.

Wow - no ABS. That's a weird deletion!
Abs really not needed.

Until you start flat spotting tires trail braking into turns, braking hard on uneven surface, or panic stop on less than desirable roads (most roads where I live)...

ABS is the one computer assist that IMO is a must. It can modulate threshold braking by each corner, whereas w/o it you can only modulate braking to the weakest link, i.e. whichever wheel locks up first.

Congratulations on your purchase. You got a sweet deal. I own a 2003 GSR with 206,000 miles on it. (30 psi, and daily driven btw) I've had it for 8 years now and still love it as much as when I first bought it. 4G63 motors are tanks, and the Evo version is the absolute best. All my drivetrain is original, and the motor has never been opened. The transfercase problems are owner inflicted and not the car's fault. I am on my 3rd clutch though. Do your car favor and only use DIAQUEEN in your drivetrain.

I would advise you learn as much as you can about running E85 in your Evo. There is more required maintenance. But with more power, the Evo just gets better. I can't describe it to you, but you'll soon experience it.
