Yeah they're great cars. What kind of seat time did you get in it? I feel that on a road course, the ss 1le is going to be hot, and will generally be fun on mountain roads etc, its very competent. But one maybe two track days a year, 95% of the miles in urban environments, I dunno.

I do agree V8's sound amazing though. Its a big reason i eventually want a muscle car in my collection.

Actually if you want more information of that hitup Neal@theracersline.com. He works directly with Zach from Delicious tuning and is the local 86 specialist (you might know him since you had an FRS). Zach has an ND that has an Edelbrock SC on it. He had the ND1 and the Edelbrock kicked it up to around 200 whp with close to 170 tq i think (dont quote me on this) but that was more than enough for a car that light and nimble to really have fun with.

My mind keeps swaying by the hour. One thing I do know is that the nd will age better in the sense that the looks will hold up and generally the car as well. I've been in a handful of 5th gen Camaro which were the bees knees when they came out but they're not exactly aging gracefully. The black hood wrap on the 1le for instance is notorious for breaking down, a small quibble but I wonder about the leather on the seats for instance.
For example, I learned the other day that the nd doesn't have tpms sensors in the tires, rather they use the abs sensors in lieu of that, making swapping to aftermarket rims and tires a breeze, and not having to worry about them everytime you change a tire. It's that kind of thoughtful engineering that I appreciate.
Really tough choice between the two.

The nice thing about the small blocks is how effortless it is to drive around town, torque is everywhere. I'd pretty much rather drive a small block around town for everyday driving than almost anything else, if money was no object to me.

Get a used SS, throw some bolt-ons, tune, and Öhlins. Even throw some aftermarket seats. Maybe even left over for a cam. So many SSs out there for cheap. These engines are cheap to mod and repair.
Otherwise get a nd, throw a HKS SC on it with suspension and be done. Don’t need much as the car “feels” fast and that’s all you need.

Significant in both cars....aka weeks in the ND Miata, months in the SS 1LE. Again, like someone stated, I do work for GM so I am biased on this. The 1LE is pretty much impossible to overheat at all, it's a track ready vehicle. It is also the first time that the Camaro is a TRUE sports car. 5th to 6th gen was a huge leap forward and a product that I'm particularly proud of.

I can comment. I daily my 1LE all over SoCal and race it as well on the weekends. It's actually a great daily driver if you don't need a lot of storage space and don't mind stepping in and out of a cave every day . People often complain about poor visibility, but honest to God you get used to it, and with the mirrors properly adjusted I'm very comfortable dipping in and around traffic on the 5 during rush hour. As you mentioned the drivetrain is very flexible. In bumper-to-bumper traffic I can get moving in 1st gear with little to no throttle and the car will idle itself uphill at 5mph and the AC blasting with zero issues. On track, the car will surprise you. This past weekend I placed 12th overall out of 166 cars. The cars that were faster were on 100 treadwear tires or better. My car is on stock 220 TW rubber with only mild upgrades. I ran faster than 3 Porsche GT3's and a McLaren 720S. Granted this was an autox style event with likely some novice drivers, the car is still very capable of mixing it up in some serious company. Best part of the story is that I waited for a deal and was able to buy my car for $32k with only 7600 miles (last year). If you're patient, you can find deals out there. Because it's a Camaro SS variant, some dealers will price it just like a traded SS. You just have to keep your eyes open and be ready to jump on a deal.. Good luck!
