I need some help especially from those who know about cars in particular transmissions. My 2nd car a MB C220 is having problems. The car is able to start up and everything but the minute I move the shiftgate into Reverse, the car dies on me. When I start the car from neutral and move it into drive, its ok. When I start from neutral and move to reverse, the car dies again. This sounds like a transmission problem to me. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions. I appreciate all your help> Many Thanks. does the engine die right away as soon as you get it into R like if you had turned off the key ?
(i'd suspect a short in the electrical system in that case)

or the engine seems to get a force applyied to it and then dies because of that ?
(mostly a mechanical problem related in that case)

do you hear any noise when you take it into R ?

I would check my fuse box and make sure all the fuses are in good shape....Just in case
