Haha Skyline FTW. My buyer hasn't come through with the "official" prices yet but looking like in the next few days. Hopefully by next week sometime.
If I have to choose between the gts25t and the type r, I"m leaning more towards the type r (since I've always wanted one of those too and I think it'll be more fun to drive).
But if the GTR falls within my price range, I guess from all your recommendations, I'll go with the skyline.
FYI, I'm not planning on modding the cars (on the plus side, the r33 GTR I'm looking at is already lightly modified). Thanks for the input.

Sorry to rain on your parade. Unless you know how to read Japanese and understands the Skyline's shop manual, I say get another car, not necessarily the ITR.
Have you considered maintanence aspect for the Skyline after you bought it?

Thats why I'm asking. I been reading up on some nissan/skyline forums but I can't really find any major issues. I thought someone or thier friend might have some experience with the skyline in terms of reliability/maintenance.
I'll post pics but it might be awhile. Talked to my guy yesterday and he told me a couple of days wait to see if the bid gets approved then about 30 days from there to get it shipped/imported into Korea. Either car will be fine though since its a HUGE upgrade from my current car...97 Daewoo Matiz ($400 with 170k on the odo

Why waste your money, you will probably be stationed there for less than a year with barely any opportunities to use it. Oh yeah, what happens when you PCS back to the states? Save your money, don't marry any Korean girls, and buy something nice in the U.S. when you return. Good luck.

Haha already thought through all that
I'm already going to be here for 2 yrs (so why not try and get something worth driving?)
I go out every weekend and 3-4 times a week after work...so I get plenty of opportunities to drive
I'm Korean, so I love korean girls...why not marry if I find a good one?
Already have a nice car in the states (my S which my sis is driving right now)
Btw...for arguments sake say I buy a GTR for $10k, when I leave in 2 yrs you don't think I can sell it for at least $7-8k on the korean market...maybe even make back all 10k? I'm pretty sure I can.

Long commitment to be stationed in Korea. Where are you stationed? MOS?
I should clarify...stay away from post whores and drinky girls.
Do you have the tools/skills available to maintain these vehicles? What about replacement parts cost and availability? How easy is it to get an engine/tranny replacement if necessary?
BTW
Are you a USMA grad?
