The new Accord is not selling!?

That Insight looks way better than the accord. The C pillar treatment on the accord kills it for me, oh and the taillights.

Or pull up in an SUV where $10 of gas is taking them 45 miles as opposed to the 120 miles a Fit/Civic would take them.

No doubt. We all know people who have made $30,000 and go out and buy a $35,000 car with all the options on a 7 year loan.

I don't have a problem with that similarity. In fact the rear view is the Malibu's best angle. But then I think the rear of the Accord looks good as well. It's the front I take issue with.
The Insight looks pretty good, still a bit chunky...though it does a better job of integrating it's heft than the current Civic.

Lots of people think it looks good - just read this thread. Lots don't...but lots do. It's unfortunate that there isn't a consensus but it is a highly subjective observation.
In dark colors, I think it looks very handsome. In light colors, it's a little more awkward around the rear but I still think it works well. It's more polarizing.
That said, the last generation was a better-looking, more universally accepted design, I would think (as do you).
The new Insight looks quite nice - we'll see it soon...

I don't get it. That just looks like a regular car to me. The front end is a little busy, but that's an industry trend, I'm afraid.

Check the hitch/payload ratings.
My LR4 has a tow rating of 7700lbs but the max hitch weight is 550lbs, it isn't enough when you factor in payload with tongue weight. I had a Q7 diesel before, tow rating was fine, but tongue weight was an issue. Using the 15% rule that means the trailer should only be 3500-4000lbs, my camper weighs more than that.
They're forcing people to buy trucks.
