Hey all,

Just picked up a 2012 Mazda 2 with 5 speed manual as a new daily. Car has 68K miles, new clutch, motor mounts, and budget tires. This car is slow, but has a great shifter and handles awesome with tons of confidence even with lots of tire squeal. These cars are a bargain in the used market. While it cant touch the s2000 in fun factor it makes a great companion car to my AP1. It weighs less than a new miata at ~2300 pounds.

And yea Mazda's are underrated as far as I'm concerned. I bought my fiancé a Mazda 3 hatchback back in 2016; 2.5S model w/ 13k miles on it, paid 14k OTD. It's got nearly 100k on it now and we haven't had a single issue with it, just general maintenance (tires, brakes, oil changes). Great little car, she's very happy with it.

My finance also has a mazda3, hers is a 2012 and has had a trouble free 100K.

I just bought a 2019 Mazda 3 Sedan AWD for my long daily commute in northern New England. I've never owned a Mazda before.

This car has a beautiful and functional interior. Thankfully, it still has a naturally aspirated 2.5 litre 4 cyl. with a real automatic transmission. You can get standard also in some versions. I'm getting about 32mpg no matter how I drive. They will probably be "updating" this car in the next model year with the new fancy dancy engine they are working on now and using in other markets. I would just as soon let other people beta test the new engine. This engine in mine is tried and true and reliable. It has plenty of power and torque for my purposes.

So far so good. We shall see how it does as I pour the miles on it.
