Default New daily with remote start and manual transmission

hey all,

Just picked up a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 with an aftermarket alarm system including remote start. Fun car with lots of power from 3000 to 5500 rpm. Anyway I'm a little concerned about having remote start with a manual transmission. I've accidently hit the start button with the car in gear...not fun. After a little research it seems like parking the car with E brake on and in neutral is my safest bet. I also plan to avoid parking on hills, any thoughts or suggestions? I was quoted $400 to have the alarm/remote start removed.

So I should keep my AP1 in neutral and e brake as well? Can you explain why?

Ive always had this idea that I could wire in a couple of normally closed limit switches under the shift boot to sense where the shifter is if I was ever in this situation.

i have a clutch interlock bypass wire rendering the interlock inoperative- leave it out of gear so someone- including me- doesn't accidentally fire the car into the back wall of the garage.
