Last time I checked, the S2000 and RX-8 had almost identical torque and hp numbers, and they're about equal in acceleration and track times. The only reason you'd feel less torque is because the rotary engine is so much smoother imo. It needs to be driven high in the rpm range, much more so than an AP1 though.

And the track times aren't quite as close as you might think, either. Well, until you overheat the stock S2000 brakes.

One does have 4 seats vs. the other with 2 seats. Add another 2 seats & the corresponding metal & you are probably looking at an additional 200-250 lbs.
If you are looking at 250 hp, that would be a bit dissapointing considering that the current 1.3L RENESIS already puts out 232 hp. I would hope a 1.6 L version would put out a good 260-275 hp.

IMHO, the perfect car would be an RX-8 with the Mazdaspeed3 engine powering the rear wheels. The rotary in the RX-8 is too weak for the car, and the engine in the MS3 is way too strong for fwd.
I too dont get this car. While on one side I uess it will be like an s2000 hardtop.. but the s2000 is getting old and performance wise is quite outclassed these days, plus this car will have horrid gas milage for the horsepowe(or lack there of) it produces.
