New Supra

I prefer the production car's shorter 97" wheelbase, with the driver positioned closer to rear axle. FT1 concept looks cool, but I'm not a fan of 108" wheelbase for a "sports car", and 78" width is a bit much as well. I tend to prefer smaller-footprint sports cars.
FT1 snowpiercer proboscis is not exactly a thing of beauty either...

I for one like it. Yeah, the front isnt the "greatest". But being in the aftermarket scene, nothing a new bumper cant fix But just imagine rolling up behind this thing on the street:

I agree. The car seems skinny and tall whereas the concept was low and wide. That said, most of these real-life show photos are with a wide-angle lens that doesn't flatter the car and will exacerbate some of these issues.

God it makes me wish they stuck a decent turbo motor in the ND RF.

73" is plenty wide enough for me. Then again my favorite street Porsche is the narrow-body RUF Yellowbird... 51" height will come down a bit with proper lowering, but IMO no need for it to be as low as, say, a Corvette. I don't mind it being upright enough for reasonable ingress/egress/ergos.
BUT:
They could have had two supremely kick-ass sports cars a lot more to my liking, a lot sooner, and for a lot less money.
1. FT86 platform: remove rear seat and shove rear wheels forward 10", instant modern 2000GT at <2600 lb. with 50/50 or better (more rearward) distribution
2. FT86 platform: remove rear seat and shove rear wheels forward 10", also move front wheels forward ~5", replace front struts with wishbones, replace 2.0 H4 with 311hp 3.5 liter Lexus V6, develop manual 6-seed or "borrow" 370Z trans, presto: 2800 lb. 50/50 or better new Supra with superior power/weight to the BMW Supra
Oh well... I still see the new Supra in a mostly positive light.

People who think it's just BMW with toyota badge are wrong. I thought that too, but then I read EVO magazine 254, were they test drove the prototype and there was chief engineer interview.
Direct quote: "just six shared components: engine, gearbox and diff, door mirrors and a few interior pieces."
I think it looks pretty good. Front end could be better, but rest of the car looks good.
