Saw Ford Escort Cosworth RS episode. Actually liked the new mechanic. Ant Anstead. Enthusiastic guy.

But he ain't Edd.....

I'll continue to watch the show since the previews show some classic Brit roadsters like the big Healey and Triumph.

But Edd was THE show as far as I'm concerned. Hope they pick him up for something else. Too many car shows make too many mods for my taste. I'd never let someone like the astonishingly talented Chip Foose near any classic car if it was mine.

The first episode was just as technical with the rebuild details as the previous seasons; if not more technical actually. I thought they were trying to lessen that aspect of the show? So far, so good.

I thought Ant Anstead's explanation of dropping the front sub-frame assembly and the simplified how-turbo-works was good. That was an awesome restoration of that Ford Escort Cosworth RS. Esp the white powder coated racing wheels and the third wing.

I'd love to have that car.

I too appreciate the show's original format of showing how to complete restoration tasks, the how-and-why discussions and bringing cars back to life that don't revolve around 5 and 6 figure frame off rotisserie restorations showing a year's worth of work taking place in an hour.

I missed that first episode but really want to see it. I bought an old XR4Ti for my son about two weeks ago and we plan on doing some restorative, Cossie-type stuff to it, but it's mostly going to be an autocross car...Unless he really wants to restore it...I really hope he does, because that will be a rather long commitment for him and I...I hope we have patience for it. lol...

What network? I don't think I can catch it on my cable package. I was a fan of it so far but will miss Edd.

I was hesitant at first, because Ed China is the man. I have to admit the new mechanic is quite knowledgeable, and not overbearingly stupid. I feared the whole Top Gear old to new would play out. That Cosy was amazing. I think they did that one better than the one the one they did (albeit Sierra) on other side of the Atlantic.

What other cars on lined up for this season? I'd love to see them do a Renault Clio V6 or maybe a Lotus Eclat.
