News for older Supra owners

While the latest iteration of the car has grabbed all of the recent headlines, this story is likely to generate some enthusiasm amongst fans of the previous two generations of the Supra: Toyota Will Sell New Parts for Old Supras There's likely no telling how this will translate to parts availability in the States but it will be interesting to see just exactly what they end up reproducing for these cars. FYI, the R&T article links to the Japanese Nostalgic Car website feature: Toyota will produce parts for the A70, A80 Supra again While I myself have never really been much of a Supra fan, I have to admit that it's nice to see that the head of Gazoo Racing owns a MK IV Supra himself.

I expect Honda to start doing the same. Follow the lead of Porsche & Mercedes.

Don't forget Nissan's lead. They're producing the RB26 again too.

What does it say about modern cars when there's such demand for the older ones?

According to the Japanese Nostalgic Car article Honda has long offered a heritage parts program for the NSX. They have also started doing so for the Beat as well.

Cool. I hope Honda does the same. Would love to rebuild an old 1986 CRX Si or Prelude Si.

That most new cars are boring. Just look at how few options come with a manual. That says it all. Makes buying anything recent difficult. I own to high HP options with manuals but there just aren't many left anymore... Japan is the worst offender of not making their historical forumla.
