I thought about a Ridgeline. I came close to buying one. But, in the end, I went with another full sized pick up which I love after upgrading the suspension a bit and adding a rear sway bar to reduce the wallowing characteristic these trucks certainly do have. It handles fine now, for a truck. The bed in the Ridgeline is not adequate for my needs which include filling the bed with bucket loader loads of loam, gravel, and mulch. Also, that Ridgeline bed is not big enough or deep enough to use to get me and my stuff in and out of remote locations for canoe trips. Even the Honda sales guy steered me away from it when I explained my intended use. It was tempting though. If you use it just to carry packages and bikes and runs to the dump then yes, I bet it is a great alternative.

2 years into my second gen Ridgeline and I wouldn't trade it. I had a Tacoma before this machine and like the Ridgeline better. Towing is only rated at 5000 but it tows my camper better than my Tacoma that was rated higher, I have no problem recommending this vehicle to anyone.

I don't understand why anyone feels the need to compare the RL (a mid size truck) to the F-150 (full size). A comparison with the Chevy Colorado makes more sense.
I feel like that apples to oranges comparison occurs because a lot of full size truck owners, for whatever reason, like being critical of a truck made by Honda and it's irrelevant to those folks if the comparison is logical or not.

Must be evoked by the "stupid rice burner Honda" mentaility I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regardless, I am glad Honda made a mid-size truck with gobs of features and functions that I can use daily.

Had my new Ridgeline for a couple of weeks. Love it, and it does everything I needed a truck for. I tried everything else out there. To each their own, but for me the choice was clear. Cheers, Mike
