Default NSX Type R stopping distance

I remember watching the Best Motoring super battle a couple of months back, and there was a section that compared the stopping distances against other supercars like Modena Challenge, Murcielago and 996 Turbo.

The NSX Type R performed significantly worse than its competitors, it took a much greater distance to come to a complete stop. What are your views on this? Thank you.

Well, my guess would be lighter weight and stickier tires in the 360 Challenge (if it was, in fact, a Challenge and not a CS) and the braking advantage of rear-engine weight bias in the 996. I'm not quite sure why a Murci would stop shorter other than having larger contact patches as it is a fairly hefty car (in relative terms, of course).

I believe it's due to the ABS system on the NSX-R. The car shuddered to a stop in their max breaking test, but on the track, the braking was just fine.

A Honda with poor brakes? Wow, that's a shocker.

you might want to try the search function - I believe we had a thread that mentioned the NSX one time back in 2003 or thereabouts...
