Reliability shouldn't be an issue and you'll have already let someone else take the depreciation hit.

If you want a newer vehicle, I'd buy a used or new CX-3 over a new HR-V. Better looks, lower cost, better handling, quicker and they've been reliable thus far. Again, buy it used, even certified, and you'll get the better vehicle at a lower cost (or possibly afford the AWD version) with better warranty. They also come with low financing rates, which is a bonus if you're not paying cash.

CPO financing = same as New (at least from what i've seen)

Too new, like mentioned below. I really like the new CX-3 vs a non-skyactive CX-5 used.

One more thing about the HRV is the CVT..... Honda is new to this (even though I'm semi-confident they don't push something new out without flogging it thoroughly and making sure big bugs are worked out) however reviews on teh CVT are not good.

This leaves me the the 6-speed... I'm obviously a fan but my wife would need to learn. Hard to get her to learn something like this when we have two young kids and barely enough time to get sleep let alone hit the mall parking lot to learn standard.

Honda has had a CVT out for years (in the Accord), which got really good reviews. I'd drive it first, to see what it's like - I haven't driven it so I can't give a personal opinion.

Yeah.. it's based on the Fit and I was able to fit a full sized 1995 pinball machine in my fit!

Love the flexibility.. Honda set the bar so high with that system.. Moving the gas tank etc to do it, brilliant idea.

I have an '09 RDX and really like it.

It's at about 150k, and has never had a single repair (I purchased it used, but received full Acura dealer records on it). Pre-owned, it was one of the best values I could find (much cheaper than an equivalent used CR-V).

Yes, MPG's suck. Plus, it uses premium. I see it as the cost to have a little fun! I recently took it on vacation to the Rockies. I was passing everybody, and even had a little fun with a turbo Integra (he had me on the tight corners, but I ad him on the straights).

It's no s2000, but it's still really fun for a CUV/SUV.

The Acura SH-AWD system is one of (if not the) best AWD system available.

I think the HRV is kinda neat, but after looking in one, don't see it really having more usable space than a Fit (at least not enough to consider it an upgrade).

I didn't know anyone actually cross shopped these cars. I thought people just wandered onto said dealer lots and were like "that one... See you in 5-7 years!" And left.
