That's because they use the same cheesy interior for almost all the models they have, except the Cayenne.
I agree. Everytime I see a porsche interior I think of my grandfather. Especially the gray interior YUK! It kills me how people think that things are nice just because something is expensive. Porsche makes nice cars, but the interiors blow (especially the 911's)

how about charging $4k for a basic leather interior? or $900 for metallic paint. Yup, the Germans sure know how to option out a car

It is also interesting to see how they view the Cayenne....

Your right......this is just brutal?

911 Interior
It looks better, but the center console could use a lil sprucing up. Look at the big buttons on the center console. But I guess looks are subjective..... But we are talking about a 90k car.

To me the 997 interior doesn't "blow." I still have no idea what problem you have with it except the optional gray interior. The owner doesn't have to choose that color. Maybe you could be more specific about why it's a grandfather's interior.

For a starter, the 1980's cell phone.

The interior is uninspiring to me. Our S2000 interiors look better than that. IMHO.

Please see my last post. I hate the center console. The navigation and chronos modules help the interior alot. But once again, it is the electrical components console that bugs the heck out of me. I will say that the 997 interior looks alot better than the 996's.

I like the steering wheel (except for the gray plasticy fake aluminum ), gauge cluster, and $1000 clock, and the stitching on the console, but the center console area leaves a lil to be desired, especially without the navigation.

The center console area reminds me of a big Blaukport radio system (i've never been fond of the cosmetics of Blaukport)

I guess I don't understand what's wrong with the center console. Too many buttons? Buttons too big? Too small? Which ones specifically?

To me it looks a little like an F16 control panel, which is not a bad thing.
