That's because they use the same cheesy interior for almost all the models they have, except the Cayenne.

how about charging $4k for a basic leather interior? or $900 for metallic paint. Yup, the Germans sure know how to option out a car
It is also interesting to see how they view the Cayenne....

To me the 997 interior doesn't "blow." I still have no idea what problem you have with it except the optional gray interior. The owner doesn't have to choose that color. Maybe you could be more specific about why it's a grandfather's interior.

The interior is uninspiring to me. Our S2000 interiors look better than that. IMHO.

I like the steering wheel (except for the gray plasticy fake aluminum ), gauge cluster, and $1000 clock, and the stitching on the console, but the center console area leaves a lil to be desired, especially without the navigation.
The center console area reminds me of a big Blaukport radio system (i've never been fond of the cosmetics of Blaukport)

I guess I don't understand what's wrong with the center console. Too many buttons? Buttons too big? Too small? Which ones specifically?
To me it looks a little like an F16 control panel, which is not a bad thing.
