I love my S2000 but let's get real. Here is an actual video of wesmaster in his SC s2000 vs a K04 swapped S4 vs a stock C5 automatic (with aftermarket torque converter, this is only really useful at a stop).

elanderholm , not to start anything with you but why are you always dissing the S2000?
If you love the Vette so much, then give your S2000 to a more deserving person and get that GM POS!

I never said the S2000 is faster or can beat a C5. So let's get real then... Yes, a C5 will destroy a S2000. I agree!
But what I find wrong, is that you seem to be dissing your own car at every turn, every chance you get and talking about how much the C5 is a faster and better car. ie - like this post. Like I said, give your S2000 to someone that deserves it and go buy that GM piece of crap.

This is dumb. Yes the C5 is faster than an S2000. I don't think this means it is a better performer. Ya it probably pulls higher numbers on the skidpad too. SO WHAT! !. I have more fun in my S2000 than my buddy in a Z-06 has in his. For some reason he always want to drive my "go-kart". You know what? I always say "sure if I can take the beast". They are both great cars. I think in the long term the S2k is more fun to drive in the real world and is more rewarding to own. Don't respond to this. This is my opinion. There is nothing you can say to change my mind about my car so don't try. C5= 50,000 dollar car with 100,000 dollar performance with 20,000 dollar fit and finish and interior. S2000= 35,000 dollar car with 50,000 dollar performance and 50,000 dollar fit and finish and interior. I like my S. If you like the C5, go get one. I understand that it may seem rediculous that people post stories of beating C5s. It is. But don't you think a post like this are a little more appropriate at the 'vette board. Go post it where somebody cares

I thought everyone had realized that some cars are easier to drive fast than others. The C5 is one of those cars... lots of power, all you have to do is stomp on the gas and it goes like a bat out of hell. The S2000 isn't like that... it's what I like to refer to as a momentum car. You don't have the same kind of power a V8 has so momentum must be 'built'. I think it's also appearant from the various S2 quarter mile times (13.7-mid 15's) that we have quite the audience of drivers here (I'm talking skill level). There's always going to be someone or something that's faster... get use to that fact. However, the S2 is one of the best all around sports cars in the world... the best IMO taking into account it's very reasonable price. Turbocharge it and it's a monster.

I have alot neighbor that drive C5 or Z06. they have a faster car than me, but we each enjoy driving on the road, they admire my car just as I admit their car. most importants is we both have fun driving our car.
the s2000 is slower than a Covette doesn't make it a worst car.
really should not make fun the s2000, because it is slower car than a C5, especially on a S2000 forum.
