Hey OP, do you mind sharing where these absurdly low rates can be had? I never though of financing a used car but if the rates are that low, I'd look more upmarket for my daily rather than trying to buy a cheap car with cash.

Check your local credit union. It varies by area but there are two in austin offering 1.3-1.5% on sub 36 month loans given your credit is good.

For example:

My friend still has his stock 350z from the first year they came out. I still really like it whenever he decides to drive. I have only driven it from the dealer to his house and didn't want to drive it hard. His Dad is a classic domestic guy and had a huge grin after I saw him floor it out of the driveway when we got back haha.

Redwing, sahtt is correct which amounts to 10-15 bucks per thoughsand borrowed. Jeez, that's cheap. I ended up with 1.5%. Coworker of mine got 0.9% on a new car. Guess this is part of the Quantitative Easing policy the fed is hoping will spur more economic activity.

Travanx, nissan made some good updates with the 07-08 model years. The motor alone is worth it. A popular mod is increasing the stock 3.5 FD to 3.9 or 4.08 and the best part is that it's done using oem Nissan parts. That's on the short list of mods to do.

Niice! I've been looking at some of the new g37s for a DD. Only worry is the trunk space is a little small.

HR 350Z = Awesome! I know I'm going against the majority here but if I could afford to do it, I'd swap my S out for an HR Z in a heartbeat! Much better DD and still a more than capable "fun" car. Not to mention a boat load of torque and a wonderful exhaust note stock that only gets better with mods.

Congratulations on your pick up my friend. Needless to say I'm quite the fan of HR's.

Thanks for the kind words and as far as which is a better daily driver, that's definitely a matter of preference. I like the Z better as a DD, but I've also lived with the S as a daily for over 8 years (and I'm getting old).

The HR motor is a gem. With an upgraded valvetrain/rod bolts, folks have pushed the motor to 9k easily (no exotic materials-just off the shelf parts) though finding a cam is another matter. I'm pretty set on GTM SC, upgraged valvetrain, quaife, and 3.9 FD + the normal support mods. It should make a great GT cruiser. A good friend of mine thought if the Japanese did a pony car, it would come out like this. Outside of the weight, I can see the comparison.

I did this too for a DD.... will need snow tires if this is your daily and you get any type of winter precipitation. I see you are way south, I don't know your climate.

My Z was pits in the winter until I mounted snow tires. Just a suggestion.

It's a fun car, I hope you enjoy.
