What is this white stuff on the hood liner?

What is this white stuff on the hood liner? I don’t see any visible fluids.

2003 mazda 6i
4 cylinder
4 spd auto
188k miles

like that it saw salty roads was when living in ohio 5 yrs ago. Currently in South Carolina.
