Today I had a dream come true. I had a close encounter with one of my biggest dream cars, the McLaren F1. My brother in law is friends with a guy who collects and races exotic sports cars. Specifically he races Ferrari's and his arsenal includes about 10 Ferrari's including an F40, F50 and soon an Enzo! So we went to his residence (most of the cars are stored elsewhere) to see his daily drivers. In his 3 car garage were a 500SL(wife's car) , the other regular car (The F1) and his newest daily driver the SL55. Anyway more of my story....

We got there and I took pics (half on the digicam and half on my film cam.) I didn't get as many interior pics on the digicam as I'd would have wanted to. Anyway, we got in. For those who do not know it has a 3 seat configuration with the driver in the middle and passengers on either side recessed about a foot behind the middle seat. I on the right and my b-i-l on the left. The owner drove it like it should be driven, or how I'd drive a rental mustang or a go cart. We did drifts, doughnuts, powerslides, 0-60, 0-100-0. 140mph on a 30mph road. He beat the crap out of the beast. The exhaust note was beautiful, the ride was not as harsh as I expected.

The owner saying, "Get in, let's go!" The car recently had a new 150000 transmission placed in it after it blew out when Christian Fittipaldi was driving it at a track.

The engine! 627hp, the back tires were 315/45/17. Note the gold plating around the engine bay. That is actually functional.
