I just picked up a 93 240sx hatch with rebuild engine for 1000. Maybe a little to old for your taste. but hey it's only 1000 dollars. It's a hatchback, you would move the whole ikea with it when you fold down the seats.

It actually lowered my insurance premium when it's added to my policy. how nice!

10k IS a lot of $ these days. i'm thinkin about a 98-00 GS400, it'll be reliable and got luxury, comfort and some speed to boot.

Could get a couple years old civic. Not sure on what the insurance is like, but you should look into a EP or EM Civic si (EP will be essentially the same as your RSX, but I don't know if the insurance will be different since it says civic on it) or an older Integra GSR.
