The S2000's stock brakes needed help, but nowhere near as bad as the Z.
What's the general concensus that the S2000 needs? Pads and fluid, or does it go beyond that to better hardware/lines, etc?

Lines are almost never necessary, they're more for subjective improvements in feel than improved power or stopping differences, and the pros/cons of them are fairly controversial. I've had/liked them, esp. on motorcycles, but am staying w/ rubber lines on my vehicles now.

I did just fine in the S2000 w/ Carbotech pads/Super Blue/SS lines in my S, but YMMV depending on track, temps, driving style, FI, etc.

Yeah, even the forced induction guys can generally get away with just upgrading pads and brake fluid.

I did my first S2000 track day all stock and I glazed the pads and boiled the fluid by the third session.

After that I went to carbotech pads and Ate Super Blue fluid and never had even a touch of fade. The pads were loud and made a LOT of dust though.
