Question Renault in the USA - Would it work?

Comparing Renault to Nissan, to me the Renault is a more stylish car for every model there is a competing Nissan. Do you think Renault could sell well in the States? I do and I think now is a great time for them to enter the States. Look at how many dealerships rolled out Maserati dealerships and those cars are like double what a Renault costs. Seems like the time is now for their return. What do you think?

Probably not a great plan. Definitely not hard to find better looking cars out there than Nissans. The problem is nobody is buying cars anymore. Never know when carrot top might decide to impose a 25% tariff to boot.

Renault has tried to market vehicles in North America for decades including buying American Motors 50 years ago. No one bought them then. I can't see anyone buying now especially with no dealer network.

Can't do it without a partner with a dealer network. Could they sell in the same dealership as Nissan? Maybe. Infinity? Maybe. You could also rebadge a couple models to supplement what Nissan and Infinity have on their floors. I think Renault has 2-3 models that could sell ok here if rebadged. I'd take an Alpine.

That's the thing, a dealer network could be done quicker than it was for Maserati, Fiat or Alfa. Car dealerships are real estate plays, not about selling cars. They could also co-brand Nissan dealerships for those that would want it.

The unions that keep the direct sales model is what's keeping alot of thes brands out of here. It's really the model that most densely populated cities in other countries have gone to. Millenials dont deal well with social situations, let alone walking into a massive dealer and dealing with a mouth breathing bro in a suit.
