Man, I'm seriously jealous reading this thread. Garage envy! I too have more cars than garage space, and a lift would be awesome. I think my ceiling is only 10' though, but I'll have to pull out a tape and double check...

I’ve seen several executions where people raise just the part of the roof that is over the “cab” of the car. So it raises up about a 6’x6’ section. Seems to provide the extra space they need.
