Ricky Nelson's Pantera
I didn't know exactly where to put this thread, but I just got my new issue of Autoweek and they have Ricky Nelson's (songs - Poor Little Fool, Garden Party) 1973 Pantera for sale for about $49,000+ in the classifieds. I'm tempted since Pantera's were one of my favorite cars of the past.

Yeah I remember seeing one on the road when I was a teenager. I loved those cars. They sounded awesome -- sort of like the the sound the concept GT40 made at the Detroit auto show. I don't know, $49k sounds kind of pricey. What is the availability of parts for those cars?

I know the feeling when you hear one. I was driving my '73 Porsche 914 when I heard a "thud thud thud" of something behind me and looked in the rearview mirror and saw a beautiful black Pantera.
I suppose if you do some searching on the internet, you might find something. It was sold through Mercury dealers at the time I think.

Here's a nice one that's for sale. Not cheap, but nice.
This came from Trader Online (there are at least 6 other Pantera's listed) and Vintage Motors of Sarasota, FL. I hope they don't mind me showing off their car.

Pantera's are awesome. You can get a really great one for about $28k. My buddy still drives his '72 almost daily. The sound is awesome. Only a GT 40 can compare

Apparently, the $49,000+ price is due to the fact that it was once owned by Ricky Nelso and may grow in value with time.
That is one beautiful car CG. Thanks for posting pictures of what the Pantera looks like.
