Default Road & Track - Performance Car of the Year 2017

http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a31275/2017-performance-car-of-the-year/

Figured this deserved a thread of its own.

Competitors are:

Audi R8 V10 Plus
Porsche 911 Turbo S
Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport
Lotus Evora 400
Acura NSX
Jaguar F-Type SVR
Mercedes-AMG C63 S
Nissan GT-R NISMO
BMW M4 GTS

I won't spoil the result. The McLaren 570S was wrecked on the first day and could not finish the competition (and hence, was not even mentioned). Based on what we've seen elsewhere, it had a high probability of winning but who knows?

Up front, I predicted a win by the Evora 400 since I felt that was the purest car of the lot, despite probably being the slowest and least advanced. I will say that they agreed with my assessment, if not my placing of it in first place.

Edit the post and go advanced. You can change the title yourself.

Was definitely pleasantly surprised by the results, I'm a huge fan of both of the top two.

Well done by those brands

After reading all that the conclusion I've come to is I need an Evora 400 in my life.

The quickest car? Why, it's another car on plain-old street tires, the 911 Turbo S. Porsche sent neither engineers nor R-compound tires to the NCM garages. They sent a one-page note with recommendations on tire pressure.
I love this, classic Porsche.

Me too. Very surprised by the Vette. It'll be interesting next year when the Z/28 and ZL1 becomes eligible.

I don't get why more on this forum are not driving Evora's, 400 or 1st generation. It exudes all that members on this forum talk about wanting in a sports car at a price that is attainable by most.
