Default Rode in a 302 V8 Miata!

Went to Balanced Performance Speed shop in Atlanta today to see what could be done with my s2k when a customer walked in to ask about having some new heads put on his car.The tech asked him " don't you think you have enough HP in that thing" so I asked him what he had he said a" '95 Miata!" So he shows me this Miata with 302 screw type supercharged V8 stuck in there putting down 418 rwhp and 450 rw torque.Everything worked as normal air-conditiong,even had a nice stereo. Then he says "want to go for a ride",gulp.....sure,what the hell, that thing was so frickin fast.Second gear pull was absolutly insane with a little supercharger whine at the top end to make you go damn! The ride was pretty nice ,felt really solid.
Car weighs in at 2600 lbs with the driver in it,best he could do at the track was 11.6 @ 129 because of traction issues and he said for that he started in 2nd gear! I told him I had owned a modded C6 and that thing would blow my doors off and he said he loves the look on Corvette guys faces when he absolutly demolishes them on the highway.By the way the Dude was 65 years old Guess your never too old to love speed.Sorry no pic's since I don't have a camera phone.

What happened with your C6? Why did you replace it with an S2000 again?

Sold it because I'm paying 35k a year in schooling for my kids and thought the extra cash would be better invested.Got 42k for the car(coupe) with 11k miles on it and 17 months of ownership(because of my mods it cost me 7k).Bought an "06 s2k for 30k,invested the 12k and so far its up to 15k.I'll probably sell the s2k at the end of summer and buy another c6,this time a vert with the 6speed paddle so my wife can drive it (this time I'll be paying invoice). Doesn't seem like you can do much with the s2k to improve performance and I'm really starting to miss the power of the c6.I wish I could have both but between insurance and overall cost I just keep switching cars. When I owned the c6 I missed the convertable, nimbleness and great tranny in the s2000,now I miss the power and torque of the C6,maybe I just can't win.I wish they made a roots style supercharger for the s2k but all you can do is lighten the car and add some bolt on mods which give small gains and cost big bucks, I am enjoying the s2k for now but can see its not gonna last.
