I think your eyes may be deceiving you. According to Google the 2014 WRX hatchback's rear cargo area is 19/44.4 cubic feet with seats up/down. The Golf R's measurements are 22.8/52.7 cubic feet. Noticeably larger. The Focus RS is 23.8/44.8 and the CTR is 25.7/46.2 cubic feet.
I purposely didn't bring up the official measurements because I think they are misleading/wrong. For example, the Golf R and GTI are listed as both having 22.8 cubic feet but it is known that the Golf R actually has slightly less space than the GTI due to AWD packaging concerns. Also, I assume VW is counting the space under the floor of the trunk where the subwoofer/tire patch kit is. I don't think this space should really be counted since it's not usable for day to day items since you have to lift the floor to get to it.

Lastly, it's VW we are talking about so you know, big grain of salt. They also said my FE would be 22/31 and I am solidly at 22mpg overall and I have never gotten above 28 on the highway, even on long trips... Also, Dieselgate.

Claiming a defect in production seems wild. Wasn't aware all their test cars were pre prod.

I've got a 2017 Golf R I picked up earlier this year and just had the APR Stage 1 reflash done. It's been awesome so far.

This is basically what it comes down to. I don't think you'll be entirely disappointed with any of them.

As far as track racing, even the FK2 civic type R has found success against BMWs, Subarus etc. (in BTCC) So theres potential even with the newer, heavier turbocharged cars. Its not a DC2, yet tech continues to push the boundaries. As long as there's an appropriate class for you, go have fun. I think the CTR may be classed against FoRS, STI, s2000 etc in SCCA solo, so it'll be interesting to see how it compares.

Even getting into the tuner market, people continue to push the limits of all drivetrains. You have s2000s, evos and civics running 7s in the quarter mile. You can build any layout and enjoy it. If this engine is anywhere near as strong as the f20, it should be able to handle a good amount of power if that’s your thing. Hondata has made impressive gains on the base cars already.

For the majority of people who only want to drive a stock car on the street, instrumented tests have shown it’s right up there with its rivals. You won’t have to “outspend” like a racing team to keep up. Honda did the R&D and offer it at a cheaper price already. What dealers do is their business, but the ADM will definitely go away once hype dies down. At least it’s not like the NSX where they can barely move the cars at all.

TOV took their Type R to the track and got it to overheat as well. The overheating didn't last long but with an open track (ie, nothing to hold the car back), they ended up having the car flash a warning and cut power on each session. Lots of egg on Honda's face if this keeps happening.

Diito. But what would be the point anyway? Who is your audience, what is your location?

The thing is i don't really fault Honda too much as this was expected since it's par for the course. But when people take hard positions in an effort to do damage control, Honda propaganda if you will, that's when it suddenly escalates into a bigger deal. Bet you though that if we repolled the same purple would still vote ctr.
