Hi guys, I own a 2001 S2000 I purchased new. It has about 65,000mi. Love the car, absolutely no problems in 16 years, but I'm getting bored with it and will not mod. My main fear with the C6 is size. Can anyone with actual experience chime in here? BTW, this forum remains one of the premier auto forums that exist. You guys were so helpful all those years ago when I purchased the S2k. Thanks!

The C6 doesn't feel terribly long, but it's lower and WIDER that will take getting used to. I had a 2000 S2k that i bought in late 2000 after selling my 1999 C5. I didn't feel the S2k was TINY when downsizing. In 09 I picked up a C6 and moved up to a Z06 in 11 (both used)

i backed my C6s in to avoid the parking stop from trashing the nose... but overall they drive relatively fine because they really aren't that huge, the width on a narrow 2 lane road can add anxiety though, especially with the wider rear of the GS and Z06. Hope that helps.

I had a 2010 GS. Long story short, fantastic engine, stunning exterior looks, very comfortable, rest is meh. It looks and feels massive in my opinion.

Depending on what it is you are trying to accomplish it may be a good fit for you.

The GS is very confidence inspiring. However, the actual driving engagement was (for me) quite low. The steering has more feel than the S2000 but the steering ratio is quite a bit slower. It feels much bigger but it also feels more planted, which is great for most driving. Lots of room, very comfortable, way nice suspension for daily driving, great looks, fantastic engine, etc. The shifter is "okay" and the clutch is way heavier but you'd get used to it fairly quickly.

Would I buy one? Sure, for the right price. It just offers a different driving experience (lots of power, great brakes, great engine, way faster in a straight line AND through the corners) but you can't wring it out on a public road very often. That makes it less fun (for me) but when you can stretch its legs, it's worth it....

This is spot on, and ultimately why I sold my Z06... the problem gets worse as cities grow and congestion builds too. 5 years ago, the back roads were a lot more open. But I've come to appreciate that FUN can be had without power and that's a good thing

I own a c5z and driven my share of c6s, owned 2 ap1s, the vettes feel lower and much wider. I feel dimensionally they're tougher to dd plus repairs to the bumpers are difficult so I'm always worried something will happen to them. But they are much more comfortable and capable, they can be much more exciting with their higher limits and power, but more engaging? No. As far as fun goes, the s2000 fun zone can be reached more easily, but it's zero fun just driving around, the vettes is way more fun just driving around since you could just hit the throttle, but the true fun zone is much, much higher which means much much more scary (for me) and stressful.
I'd love a gs.

I switched from an 06 S to a 14 C7. It definitely is bigger and not as tossable. It's hugely faster and handles better. It does take some getting used to. I've definitely become a Vette head.

OP, you need to drive one. They are an outstanding value for the money with proven and capable components. LS3 is basically bomb proof, rest of drivetrain, chassis, brakes, etc. are very solid. Very capable and good looking cars priced favorably nowadays. You couldn't go wrong if you wanted to try something different than your '01 S2000.
