S2000 or Sport Sedan
So currently looking to get into something more sporty. I have had multiple S2000s in my past and will have another in the future. No matter what car I've had, I'm always lusting after another S.
With that being said, I have my first child on the way and currently drive a 08 Rav4. I also travel 120 miles per day commute. For my daily I need something comfortable and quiet, manual, and gets at least decent fuel mileage. I also really prefer AWD since I live in the northeast and my commute involves some side roads in the early AM that won't be plowed well.
I'm wondering, should I keep the Rav and buy an S and potentially have the S sit because I have no time to drive it? OR buy a sport sedan that offers adjustable suspension of some sort (comfort-Sport) that is AWD and kind of a do it all car?
I feel like no matter what sedan I have, I will still want the drop top, but I'm trying to be realistic.
I'd say my budget for a do it all sedan would be around $50k.
What do you Dad's suggest?
Thanks in advance!

I like driving a comfy easy on gas DD. I do at least 20k/year. Some years, like last year, I did closer to 40k.
I love my volt for commuting. It's quiet. Comfy. Sound system is pretty good. Feels faster than any of the regular econo cars and much better than a prius.
I also get roughly 80 mpg. It dropped my gas bill from $400-$500/ month. To about $80-90 for gas. $20-30 for the electricity. $120 all in. Plus I get HOV access which saves me 1-2 hours everyday.
I like doing it this way bc idc about my DD when I street park in NYC. Let people back into it when they parallel park who cares.
When I get bored & it's a light traffic day, I drive the s2k or exige and park it in a garage.
So IMO get another s2k and keep the rav4 or buy a nice cheap DD

An AWD 911 convertible. You'll get a few years out of the back seat before that becomes an issue.

Get a Subaru Legacy 3.6R. Get the top of the line with the Eyesight system which has adaptive cruise, etc. Will allow you comfort and relaxation during your commutes and with all wheels always driven your bad weather drives will be easy. The 3.6R is surprisingly powerful and agile.
Yeah, this is a 4-door. Babies -- and their mothers -- deserve protection. Skip the exotics and get a S2000 for yourself. Put the S2000 in the barn Nov-Apr.
